Day 4 of our Visit to Australia and New Zealand

December 13th, 2011

We hung-out around Trinity Beach today

lunch

We got up real early - 4am - and watched the sun come up. We were surprised that dawn came so early here. The top picture was taken looking south-east from the northern-most accessible point on Trinity Bay.

You have probably heard about the poisonous jelly fish in Australia. We had too, but also found ample warnings once we got here.
  • (top-left picture) Peter, wet from a swim is reviewing a chart describing the "stingers" and the symptoms of the stings. Here is a link to a readable- sized chart for many stings.
  • (top-right) We saw several of these tubes full of vinegar, a first aide, on the beach.
  • (lower-left) The next day, the beach was closed due to stinger sightings. Note the netted area; this is where we swam.
  • (lower-right) If all of this hasn't scared you, note the warning about crocodiles!

Here is Spencer having lunch on our balcony. We ate most of our meals here. You couldn't beat the view.

We wandered around at night and found a few critters near our building.
