Peter watching construction
An image from 13 January of Peter watching construction while we were waiting for our departure from LAX. I am guessing that this is the new $1.5-billion Bradley West project. See link to story.
Peter photographing a tree that Ali and Sandy used to play on
We arrived in Buenos Aires early in the morning of January 14th. We decided not to rest, but to go out exploring. We picked up a couple of sandwiches at a deli along the way and headed for the Plaza San Martin. Here is Peter photographing a tree that Ali and Sandy used to play on. Acording to Wikipedia, this is the "plaza's great Ombú". (Link: Wiki for Plaza. Wiki for Ombú.)

Diques which lie between the San Telmo (left) and Puerto Madero (right) Districts.
We walked from the terminal to the Diques which lie between the San Telmo (left) and Puerto Madero (right) Districts. The white structure, spanning the dique, is the Puente de la Mujer - a footbridge that swings out of the way for boats. (Links: Map. Wiki for bridge.)
Stuffed Cow.
Along the Diques are restored warehouses, many with resturants. This scene makes me think about the "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe " by Douglas Adams.
Casa Rosada
On the way back to our hotel, we walked by the Casa Rosada - the official seat of the executive branch of the government of Argentina. (Link: Wiki)
