Day 11 – Isabela Island

Today, we were visiting Isabela Island. We explored the Tintoreras Islets via a dingy and on foot. We tried snorkeling later in the morning, but the visibility was poor. In the afternoon, we visited Puerto Villamil, where we visited another breeding facility for tortoises and saw flamingos.

Another amazing dingy ride.

Lichens. On land, the Tintoreras Islets

As per our guide, Giovanni, the wind seems to be a factor in the survival of these lichens. Looking in the other direction, you don't see any lichens.

It's interesting to examine these corpses found on the beach. Nice way to see more of how the animals are put together.

A local cafe

We relaxed for a little while at this beach-front cafe.

Food art.

Our kitchen crew (Francisco and Alex) made us snacks in the afternoons. They were almost always accompanied by a sea-themed sculpture.
