On our way out to Ephesus, we stopped in Kuşadası to join a celebration. April 23 is National Sovereignty and Children's Day (Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramı) It is the commemoration of the first opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey at Ankara in 1920. Dedicated to the children. (wiki)

Here is our entire group for this tour of Turkey. From left to right: Roger (blue), Mary (tan), Lovie (turquoise), Marion (beige), Jan (purple), Dan (blue), Barbara (with sign), Peter (blue), Roseanna (green), Cathy (white) and Ersin (light red)

Picture from Barbara's camera, taken by a friend of Ersin's.

We toured and had lunch at the Yedi Bilgeler Vineyards. Delicious lunch. I still remember the chicken with some sort of a walnut sauce.

The Basilica of St. John was a basilica near the ancient city of Ephesus.

Flowers finding their place with the ruins.

A stork with next on top of one of the columns at the Basilica of St. John.

A view of the Temple of Artemis, originally one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World although not much of this temple remains today. (wiki)

A view of the Temple of Artemis as seen from the ruins of the sixth-century Basilica of St. John.

We enjoyed seeing this water-amusement park. This area is very popular with Russian vacationers and this place illustrates this in a fun way.
